Weekend Update - August 26-28, 2005

Finally got all of the shots sorted from last week and they are uploading into our store here.

I was a little concerned with the S2000 sportscars scheduled to be here on the same weekend as the Harley Owner's Group rally based out of Chattanooga. I only heard of a few close calls though, and both groups seemed to be respectful to the other. As usual the S2000s set a great example of skillful driving that all car groups should strive for.

Still, the weekend wasn't without incident, as at least one car spun out and clipped the ditch, and another lost an oil plug creating a 1/4 mile-long oil spill in the northbound lane around mile marker 4. (Parson's Branch) They were quick to notify the offending driver and get him pulled over, and he felt terrible, but no one really went to the beginning of the spill and warned others of the hazard. I heard about the spill but got there too late...a sportbike had already gone down but the rider was fine. I posted up some orange flags and wrote "OIL" in the road with some sandstones, (forgot my sidewalk chalk that day) and as far as I know, no one else went down.

PLEASE, if your group creates a hazard, try to warn others immediately THEN plan your response. Having someone assigned to bring road markings of some sort would be a good idea also.

Well it's getting late so I'll wrap this up and move on to the highlights. Y'all be careful out there!

The S2000s were thick last weekend doing their bi-annual rally thing.

He's been places.

It was tough to pick one shot of this nasty little S2k

"Do you think he got us?"

Segue!

This poor kid was riding sketchy all day, and I had a bad feeling his time was coming...

He came in too hot and tucked the front.

His bike hit the front of the truck, and he went under the side. Lucky for him the lady driving the truck was on the brakes fast and stopped just short of running over him with the rear tire. Rider was fine.

This Kawi went down also, but he was fine and rode it off. BOTH of his framesliders snapped right off though. He could have really benefited from using the heavy duty stuff my boys Jacob and Noah make over at OESaccessories.

Y'all be careful out there, especially on those right-handers. A crash on a bike means you're almost guaranteed to go across the lane of oncoming traffic.

I just want to say thanks to all of those who allowed faster traffic to pass...

I'm sure there was lots of complaining, but there was also a good deal of courteous driving. Pulling those cruisers over can be a handfull if they leave the pavement. Thanks guys!

The S2000s often did their best to allow faster traffic by when it was safe. Sometimes, being patient pays off.

Aww it's got a kitty cat theme...with demonic kittys from the 7th level of hell.

We also saw some pretty rushed passing, like this one around a blind left. Imagine how your passenger's family would feel if you killed them pulling a dumb move like this?

This pretty lady was all smiles all weekend.

It's cool if y'all want to wave, just please be sure you are well within your limits. It's ok if you don't wave...really!

Dave got a new car!

Watch for the growing "killboy.com fleet" at a Deal's Gap near you.

Crazy evil paintjob.

I have no idea.

Tight cruiser group.

Kneedraggin on a Kawi Concourse (I believe that's what it was)

Clean Beemer

Impressive homemade Ducati. Not sure exactly what it's based on, but it was definitely an inline 4 cylinder and someone said it had a Honda stator cover. Notice the undertail exhaust passes through the subframe, and utilizes 2 short mufflers.

Redneck Rollercoaster?

Skullz

That's one highly accessorized 'Wing.

Dawgie!

Sparkies!

Wow...painted exhaust even.

My boy Jay rippin' it up on his KTM.

Mohican

Man that's a crazy tankbag system you've got going there...doubles as a nice pillow I suppose.

Tight!

Mmm-kay...

Whoa Nelly!

I thought they were going to jump out and kidnap us.

Straight from church!

Looks like he's backing up.

That's a purdy bike.

Just a sharp shot of a FZ-1

Cool old school chopper.

She doesn't look like she's having very much fun.

The post-crash interview.

A little more Motard action.

They roll 20's.

I have a feeling "Spicy Pie" is code for...something.

Wild custom trike.

Until next week, here's Max the tree-climbing dog.
